A small sample of cells from the inside of the cheek, called a buccal swab procedure, is easily obtained from the mouth. The sample is shipped directly to our lab where we perform STR DNA typing. Then we return the typing card to you so it can be kept in a safe place. We will also retain the unique DNA typing in our files in case it is needed by any Federal, State or Local authority. All work meets the FBI standards and is kept confidential.
